Our lighting museum which started the work with a heart wanting to share the warmth of the light is celebrating its 12th year in business.
The hall shows various all-time lighting exhibits including torchlight, oil lamp, beeswax candle, gas lamp, the early invention incandescent lamp by Edison, LED, optical fiber and more. We can say the history of light and illumination is trace of human civilization, and lifestyle containing human thoughts represented in lights. You can understand a wise way of life of ancestors through the lights, and share their emotions and lives because the lights illuminated the ancestors' mental and physical lives are there in the commodities.
Light and illumination are not a by-product of industry anymore, but an important source of culture and art. Audiences can enjoy various-formed lighting works transformed into arts through light art pieces. Lighting Museum has been finding and supporting artists on the light art section every year. An audience can encounter a world of beautiful and ingenious light art representing itself with various materials.
We would like to raise a caution of light pollution, and make an opportunity to consider finding light pollution prevention ways. We are trying to spread various eco-friendly light campaigns help people to understand a successful coexistence of man with nature by the light.

In this hall, everyday is Christmas. Santa's story bags are here, and also you can find world's fine candles and take some photos with baby polar bears. This exhibition, widely loved and representative one in the museum, provides you with love, peace and the spirit of philanthropy of Christmas.
The light is not only a motive power which helps the existence of humans, but also an essential part for human lives. The light culture growing with humans made all human lives easier with a birth of endless new technologies, and going on step forward, it is used for many different fields including arts as cultural materials or a genre as well as the existing practical functions. The light culture has come a long way. But it seems to have forgotten about living together with mans and the coexisting ways. Reckless use and lust for glitz and glamour of the light brings the light pollution to people, and we are wilting under the harm of eye-threatening lights which also opposing the sensibility.
The Lighting Museum would like to return a sensation which made you to read and absorb in the books with an awakening light to the world, then you to be able to ignore the hunger.
